Face it, working for $7.00 per hour is not going to place you in the lap of luxury, but it can maintain your day to day needs. (I said needs, not wants!) That’s why we find it so important to live debt free. We save what we can while we are working to support the travel months without hitting the savings. We also find it important to donate a portion of what we earn. We have favorite charities that we support.
Our annual expenses are handled with savings. These expenses include health insurance, auto & fulltimer insurance. Some folks choose to live without health insurance, and while that would omit a large expense, we feel it is not a wise thing to do.
We also rely on our savings to cover any emergency that may arise. And trust us, things do come up. Whether it be a repair job on the truck or the rig, you must have money set aside to cover these expenses.
