Keeping in Touch

What Works for Us

Mail Forwarding

Banking

Internet

We use  American Homebase, a mail forwarding company in Pensacola, FL.  They provide our address which allows us to maintain our Florida residency.  We have used these folks since 2000 and have had ZERO problems!

We do our banking on-line with Bank of America.  We have been pleased with the services they provide, even though we call them “Bank of Part of America.”

To keep in touch with folks back home, we use a Cingular cell phone.  Does Cingular have the absolute best coverage available?  Who knows, but overall we have been satisfied.  Also, since we enjoy living where there is no cell service, we have a prepaid calling card that we can use at pay phones.

For us, this lifestyle requires access to the internet, and we have used many different methods.  Wifi is available in many campground for free, but some campgrounds charge a small access fee.  Public libraries also provide internet access.  Cell phone companies have access, and for folks like us who go where cell phones don’t work, there is always satellite service.  It’s better than dial up, but slower than DSL.
