March and april 2008

March finds us still in Kerrville, TX at Buckhorn Lake RV Resort. We were able to do a few day trips into the Hill Country. We visited Enchanted Rock State Park outside Fredericksburg. We climbed to the top of the big rock and then, after a picnic lunch, did a 6-mile hike around the base of the rock. We had a perfect day weather-wise and enjoyed being out once again. Before we left Buckhorn, spring had arrived. The wildflowers were just beginning to pop up, and the days had grown warmer, and we were running the AC. Mid-April we left Kerrville and began our trek towards Yellowstone National Park. We did a fun stop-over in Palo Duro Canyon State Park, south of Amarillo. We stayed a few days and once again were able to do some hiking. The weather remained warm for the most part, and we were happy to have electric hook-ups so we could run our AC. The last week of April we arrived in Gardiner, MT, just outside Yellowstone’s north entrance. We seemed to have gone from spring in Texas to winter in Montana. We were in Gardiner for a week to attend training for our jobs in Yellowstone. However, we were able to get out and about in the Park and enjoy our time off.
